IG-Reel References for Can-Am ONRD Supershoot FY24

Hey everyone! Really excited to present the new direction we're taking some of the forthcoming IG-Reel videos. You'll recognize some of these references from the the original creative and the list Seb created earlier this month. We reviewed that list carefully and used as many as we could where we felt confident the footage supported executing the idea faithfully.

You will also see some new references paired with the original concepts titles in situations where we felt the footage could be used in a different way to better exemplify the "spirit" of a trending IG-Reel.

Three of the FPV Drone reels (Middle of Nowhere, Magic Hour, and Around the Corner) and one of the Transition reels (Day & Night) will be created in line with how they were presented in the director treatment and therefore do not have reference videos included.

Enjoy!

References from Can-Am

"Around the World"

You know it, you love it, we're going to do this exact same thing.

"Montage B"

Rapid montage interspliced with a slow mo shot I think will be able to show a lot of vibrant, exciting imagery in a little bit of time.

"Montage C"

Leaning into our photos and mimicking the music track.

"Mount Up"

Putting our beautiful photos the to the forefront and separating each set of 4 shots by the environments to keep it 'global'

New References from Banter

"Birds Eye"

We'll be emulating the 'locked in' effect between camera and subject, but will be more engaging because of the way the mountain road twists and turns. We'll also search for a more exciting / up-tempo song.

"Sensory Overload"

We use this idea with video instead of photo and with some awesome sound design this could be really exciting and trailer-esque

"Start Up"

We're combining pieces of the following two references to create "Start Up"

Reference A

Our plan is to use a driving shot and the music featured in this video along with the editing effect shown in Reference B.

Reference B

Ignore all the Premiere editing software UI and BTS. We would only use the background swipe effect seen in the first 5 seconds of this video in combination with a driving shot and the music from Reference A.
